Engel
developed the DeepBlue line of coolers because they felt
adventurers needed and deserved a better cooler. The new
design is not just an improvement on the old models but a brand new
concept, designed from the ground up, to re-define what an ice chest
could be.
The DeepBlue coolers by Engel are
rotationally-molded of seamless polyurethane. In addition, a full
two inches of dense polyurethane foam injected on the top, bottom,
and sides of the cooler provide 8-10 days of cold-keeping
capability. But that's not all. They also have an integrated full-length lid hinge and heavy-duty latches.
The DeepBlue line has also been tested and approved by the
Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC). The IGBC has done
both controlled simulation and actual "live" testing with
wild grizzly bears, leading to Engel being approved by the IGBC.
"Engel coolers withstand smashing, prying, scratching, biting,
and tossing by hungry bears."
